Chance Collage

Chance Response:

The chance collage was a good representation of how everything in life is all about chance.  Sometimes you’ll be able to hit right where you want to and sometimes things will just be out of reach, and some might not be right for you at all.  It was an easy example of just how unpredictable choices are.  There are ways to make this simple assignment represent how everyone's life can turn out so differently.  I really enjoyed it

prompt:

come up with a 6 line poem with these phrases "is cursed with a prophecy that says she will fall for a star, and it will kill them both" "from the streaming service" "Daniel, thinking the best way for him" "cover is both an homage to herself"

"Starbound Fate"

She is cursed with a prophecy told,
To love a star, both fates unfold.
From the streaming service of time’s cruel spin,
Daniel, thinking the best way for him.
Her cover is both an homage to her self,
A story of love left high on the shelf.

Response:

“Starbound Fate” speaks to the tension between destiny and desire—the ache of loving someone you’re fated to lose. The prophecy becomes a metaphor for the emotional walls we build, the fear of vulnerability, and the idea that timing can be both beautiful and cruel. The poem shows the bittersweet nature of love: how some connections feel written in the stars but never truly are ours. It resonates with my own experience of loving deeply but being held back by circumstances, timing, distance, or even my own fear. It’s about accepting that some stories are meant to shape us, not stay with us.
