For the past 100 years there has been some sort of spell that has protected Tampa Bay from being in the eye of the hurricanes and facing mass destruction from natural disasters. Some say its luck while others believe it is from burial grounds from Native American tribes around the area. The Tocobaga tribe have burial shell mounds along the coast that may be one of the factors. Although some believe that it's just the luck of location. Despite the fact that Tampa has had serious luck it is always smart to reside on the side of caution.
I actually heard about this last semester when we were getting hit back to back with hurricanes. I never thought that much about it but now that I’m thinking about it, it is a crazy coincidence. I think that maybe there is something protecting this place because location wise we should have gotten hit at least once. An interesting idea to look at throughout the future.
